It's update time of what's been going on in the Rattlers' club of late, so here goes. Bob's truck is progressing nicely and now has it's front panel work reinstated,so it won't be too long before it see's an MOT. His coupe, although always living outside, is as dependable as ever and is a testament to it's original builder.
Dave (textbook) is busy banding his rear wings to accommodate those 'obscene' rear wheels he has now fitted. This Pop is going to cause some interest in the rodding scene with it's already established pedigree and it's recently installed Caddy engine and box - phew !!!!!!!
Dave (32) has now sorted out the Rooster coupe and it should be attending the Herne Bay event.
Dave's (alf an aircut) Prefect truck is finally sorted now he has installed electronic ignition and tossed away his Motorcraft dizzy with points, so expect to see plenty from him over the season.
Frank's Morris is running great, so take a glimpse of it if he isn't driving it too fast and leaving his mates standing.
Al's car has had major heart surgery and is now running a 2 litre pinto in place of it's old V6.
Trev's Victor is evolving nicely now he has dumped the arse end and it won't be long before the front looses a few coils too.
Poor old Steve has had lot's of misfortune with his rod, but he has kept optimistic and has applied himself to getting the 75 year old rods problems sorted.
Well that's all folks for the time being, but watch this space

Well it's been all go for the Rattlers members in recent weeks, so an update is long overdue - so here goes. In spite of the weather, some of us have gotten together and taken the cars out cruising visiting Trev up at Herne Bay and Bob out at Deal. The trips haven't been without incidence as some teething problems have made them selves evident, but nothing drastic fortunately. One car in particular has proven itself to be worthy and drives fast and comfortably. Yes you've probably guessed that it's Frank's V8 Minor and the cheeky git drove passed us at considerable speed whilst we were sitting in a lay by sorting out Dave's truck electrics. We wouldn't have minded so much if it hadn't been for the fact that we have been working so damned hard on his car getting it in this condition and almost neglecting our own rods - lol. Never mind, it was great to see him grinning from ear to ear and resting his outstretched chin on the dashboard as he attempted to break the land speed record !!!!
Now up to date on what's been happening during the last week. Steve's Morris is currently undergoing a head gasket change after he discovered a water leak, Bob's truck has it's engine installed and it simply sounds awesome and looks like it was made for his engine bay, Dave has installed a new fuel line in his Prefect truck and about to change his weber twin choke for a rebuilt example, Al has bought himself a 2 ltr pinto & box to replace his thirsty V6 and this will be installed very very soon, Trev has just taken possession of a MK1 Cortina axle to replace his standard Victor one so that he can get his sexy wheels on the FB, Textbook Dave had a bit of good fortune at the swapmeet and got himself a huge pair of boots for the rear of his Pop and Dave32 has been as busy as ever making some of the best scale model cars that money can't buy. Finally, Frank is still making work for Dave (alf an aircut) on his Minor rod every time he thinks of something else to modify, which seems to happen every second day of every week.

Another long term Rattlers project has hit the streets after an exhaustive 4 year plus build. Yep, it’s Al’s stunning Prefect and it sailed through it’s first MOT in decades since he rescued it as a derelict hulk from a breakers yard of all places. He had a huge grin on his face when he was presented with his certificate, and rightly so after all his efforts. That’s 4 Rattlers cars MOTed in as many weeks, so the club is going from strength to strength.
Bob is still making steady progress with the F1 truck and Trev’s FB will see some reworking on the suspension and wheels department as soon as he gets his parts delivered from Liverpool. Poor ole Steve has had a few difficulties with his engine since his MOT, but he’s not the type to sit about moping, so it’s well on it’s way to ‘good health’ again.
Textbook Dave has plenty of parts for his Pop and when time and the weather allows, he will be forging ahead with probably the biggest engined Pop in the country. Dave 32 is patiently waiting for a posse of us to give him a helping hand with his panhard rod when things warm up a bit. Meanwhile, he is creating some wicked scale models, so keep a watch on the models page. In fact, Prefect Dave is making a 1/25 scale model of his truck during these miserable winter evenings, so that too will eventually appear on the models page.
Well, for the first time since the club was formed, we will have a respectable number of cars on the road and will certainly make a presence when we all turn up at events from now on.
Viva La RattlersUK guys !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

really good news to report as Dave (Prefect pickup) and Frank (Minor Major) both passed their MOT’s today, so that’s two more Rattlers cars cruising the streets from now on. Dave’s pickup was taken off the road last October and has since been rebuilt with different engine/box and both axles changed. Frank’s has been in the making for the last 3 years plus and like Dave’s, has had just about everything changed from stock, so you can imagine they are both delighted after all the hard work which has gone into building these rods.

Not very far behind in the MOT stakes are both Al’s (Prefect 4 door) and Steve’s (36 Morris 4 door) cars, which are essentially complete and just having final tweaks before they follow suite. Al has been building his car for roughly 3 years and he has radically changed it by replacing both axles, the engine and box. Steve bought his car as a built roadworthy ride but needed to put his own personal mark on it, so has completely repaired and resprayed the body and has invested his hard earned money in a blower to make the already rapid car go that much faster (and drink lots more fuel eh Steve).
In the garage scene, Bob and Textbook Dave are making progress on their builds, although Dave’s is a little slower as he has to work outside and has other irons in the fire (dirty dog).
Last but certainly not least is Trev with his Kool Victor cruiser. He has just fortunately just got his grubby hands on some super rare VX490 parts to enable him to lower his car and fit these sexy new wheels he has been hoarding under lock and key.
Well, all in all, things are finally looking up for the club after a lot of effort and dedication.

me was had by all the Rattlers and friends
the Scavengers 2nd Rockabilly Roustabout. The music was first class and
the traditional rods and yanks present were so damn sexy that it was hard to
choose a favourite. This event is a must for next years diaries ladies and
gents.

A warm welcome to new 'Rattler' Trev and his super kool FB Victor to the
club. Check out the members vehicles to see just how nice the car is. It's
soon to be dumped in the weeds with some wicked bitchin wheels.

It's been a while since the last update so there's a few things to to
mention regarding club news. Firstly and most importantly, all the cars are
just waiting to be MOTed and will all be done within the next 2 weeks, so
keep an eye on the site for fresh photos.

Professional Club Plaques have arrived from the States and look great, so
get them mounted you lazy buggers!!!

We now have a dedicated models page, so if you have any models you want to
display on the site, whether bought or built by yourselves, just send them
through to rattlersuk@hotmail.co.uk

Club window stickers are being looked into with a fresh design as are T
shirts and club jackets, so watch this space for news on these items.
